"We loved visiting!! Only found 28/90 bears, though. Great weather, super friendly people. Wish there were more indoor pools for off-season. Also, we couldn't get a cruise, unfortunately. I guess we'll have to come back in the summer!"
Julie Smith
"Beautiful and mostly well preserved historic city in North Carolina, that once was the capital of the state.
My partner and I were travel through North Carolina and stopped for one night in New Bern. Since we arrived at night, we missed seeing the charming town as we drove through the streets.
After waking up, we decided to walk through the downtown area to see the historic area and try some local food.
Many of the buildings, including the Palace, are well preserved and quite beautiful. Seeing all of the impressive structures with the fall colors and the few remaining summer flowers was a treat. The town sits on the water allowing for a short walk to the marina area, which is also very beautiful.
There is quite a bit of activity in New Bern and worth a short visit."
