What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Vanderbilt Stadium is praised for its improved atmosphere and intimate SEC feel, especially after recent renovations like The Huber Center. Attendees appreciate the clean facilities and good sound system, though some find policies strict and services expensive. Navigation can be tricky due to ongoing construction.
"The upgrades they have made have totally changed the atmosphere, feels like real SEC football now, highly recommend going if you haven’t been in awhile"
Geoffrey Butts
"Nice intimate stadium. They are going through a major renovation project. It looks like it's going to be really nice when it's complete. The staff there was extremely helpful and polite. The views are pretty good everywhere but be prepared that wheelchair seating currently blocks a portion of the end zones. During football games, it would be nice if we could hear the marching bands instead of the pumped in music. The pumped in music feels like it takes away from the college football experience. Because of the construction, navigation in and out of the stadium could be confusing, so be prepared for that."
Cody Patterson
"Sat in Section S, row 67. There is no way of getting to any section above row 19 without walking up stairs and the stairs are steep and without handrails. The view was wonderful, not a blind section to be seen. The sound system is amazing, the concessions are great as well. Just know, you better not be in bad shape or it's gonna not be fun trekking up and down those stairs."

Stadium Renovations and Upgrades
While these renovations are exciting, they can impact the visitor experience. Construction zones may alter navigation within the stadium, and temporary seating arrangements or obstructed views can occur. Visitors are advised to check for the latest updates on construction progress and any associated access changes before attending an event. Despite the ongoing work, the improvements are generally well-received, contributing to a more 'real SEC football' feel.
The stadium has also seen upgrades to its sound system and concessions, aiming to provide a more comfortable and enjoyable experience for attendees. These efforts are part of a larger strategy to elevate Vanderbilt Athletics and attract top talent and fans to its events.
Concert Venue Experience at FirstBank Stadium
However, attending a concert at FirstBank Stadium comes with a significant caveat: traffic and egress. Numerous concertgoers have reported extremely long wait times, sometimes up to four hours, trying to leave the venue after a show. This has led to advice suggesting attendees arrive very early or have a solid plan for post-concert transportation to avoid being stuck in standstill traffic.
Beyond the traffic concerns, the stadium itself offers a decent concert environment. The sound system is noted as being amazing, which is crucial for a good musical performance. Despite the potential for logistical headaches, the allure of seeing major artists in a Nashville venue continues to draw fans.
Navigating Seating and Accessibility
Accessibility for individuals using wheelchairs also presents some considerations. While wheelchair seating is available, it has been noted that these areas can sometimes obstruct views of the end zones. This is a point of feedback for improving the overall fan experience for all attendees.
Furthermore, the stadium has specific policies regarding comfort items. While outside seats are prohibited, the stadium offers rental chairs for a fee. This, along with restrictions on bringing outside water, contributes to the perception of expensive basic services for some visitors.
