"I had an unpleasant experience that was not even directed at me personally but I was standing right there. Volunteer worker tells an older gentleman who wants to negotiate furniture that whatever price he asked for she said no because her response was it could be easily reupholstered???? I’m standing there and I heard her say this and I looked at the outdoor ottoman and it looked like something that would’ve been from the golden girls. If you don’t know that TV show it’s from the
80s. Anyhow… the gentleman said who has time to redo that. I don’t know if he ended up buying it or not but as I was walking out of that section I said to the woman … you suggested changing the fabric?
Then her ignorant response was I am only a volunteer. If you are only volunteers working there…
who are you to judge what someone is going to do with their purchase.
Who are you to assume everyone shopping there is to buy something and make themselves money.
People go in because sometimes that’s all they can afford - HOW DARE YOU!!
I’m referring to the blonde lady behind the counters in between the future and the clothes. I was the lady without the dog. You personally turned me off to this store .

You are a volunteer so in my personal opinion that means you really have no say. This should be a teachable moment instead of using a volunteer excuse as if you are doing anyone a favor. The only favor you are doing is for the thrift shop owner and now you lost me as a customer because a volunteer has zero empathy thrift shops are very common here - I won’t miss this one"
