What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Shy Wolf Sanctuary for its passionate staff and volunteers, who provide insightful and engaging tours. The animals are noted to be well-cared for and active, creating a vibrant and heartwarming experience. While the sanctuary's mission is deeply appreciated, some visitors suggest clearer signage for parking and entry points.
"The staff and volunteers genuinely love what they do and it shows! The tours are amazing. They’re full of interesting insights and you can tell everyone truly cares. The wolves are well taken care of and the property is kept up through impactful volunteering efforts and collaborative projects with local Scouts and other organizations. It’s heartbreaking to hear how some of these animals ended up there, but it really makes you appreciate the incredible work this center does to protect and rehabilitate them. Parking in the front is like that of a home, you park in the grassy areas. Entrance is to the left as you're walking towards the main house."

"WOW. An experience I’ll never forget. Heard about this place via word of mouth. This sanctuary is truly stunning. It has a very cool jungle vibe to it. All staff members/volunteers are extremely nice, extremely knowledgeable, and you can tell right away that they truly care about the animals. We had the pleasure of having Linda as our tour guide. Linda was super nice, and she was able to answer all questions that were asked. She explained every animal in detail, and how they ended up there. Her passion for volunteering here is very obvious. This made the experience that much better! We got to see animals such as: panthers, wolves, wolf-dogs, prairie dogs, fox, tortoises, raccoons, & my personal favorite: New Guinea singing dogs. So cute. It was very nice to see that all the animals seemed to be happy. It wasn’t like going to a regular zoo and the animals are just laying there looking all depressed and not moving around. The animals at Shy Wolf were all active, moving around, howling, playing, etc. it really is a sanctuary for them. There are really zero negatives to be said about this place. It would be great for any age. More signage of where to walk to/ enter after parking would be very helpful, as my group was confused where to go & so was the other group that had booked at the same time as us. After parking, walk around the house (stay to the left) and enter through the wooden gate (it will be latched shut but not locked) than make a right turn and you will see a waiting area (patio)."

Our guide Cindy was also very knowledgeable and taught us a lot about all the different animals and the wolves. The animals are very well cared for, and everything is very clean. It's nice to see these people dedicate their lives to such a wonderful mission."
