What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Guests frequently praise the Historic Napa Mill for its impeccable service, prime downtown location, and dog-friendly policies. However, some visitors note that rooms can be small and potentially noisy due to thin walls, and ground-floor views may be obstructed. Despite these minor drawbacks, the overall experience is often described as welcoming and convenient.
"From the moment you walk through the door, you feel at home! Their service was impeccable! Very friendly, professional and helpful staff! Our room was beautiful, bed is comfortable and the hotel grounds were manicured daily. They are a dog-friendly hotel and welcomed our dog with open arms- welcome sign and gift basket! Great location in downtown Napa, walking distance to everything"

"The rooms were pretty lackluster, especially given the very high price (around $1100 for two nights). The beds were full-sized beds and not large enough for two adults to sleep comfortably, let alone a family of 4 which the room supposedly could accommodate. We had two adults and two toddlers and found that we had to ask for a roll away bed (another $50/night) because the beds were small for even an adult and toddler to sleep in. The rooms were also very small. There was no closet, only a little nook in the already small bathroom, so finding a place for luggage was difficult. The fire alarm went off on our last night there and was on from about 1am-1:30am. They did not know how to shut it off and the fire department had to turn it off. All families in the building were waiting outside during the false alarm. I think they should have comped something for the inconvenience, but there was no mention of it at check out. I chose this hotel for the view of the river, but we were placed on a ground floor room and the view was entirely blocked by plants. I will probably stay at the Archer next time, which was much less but with bigger rooms and also downtown. Location and service by the front desk was great and the rooms were clean, but I do not think this hotel equates to 4 stars."

"This a nice hotel. Unfortunately the rooms have paper thin walls. We had three nights that were terrible because we kept hearing the cell phone vibrating in the adjoining room. When you pay the price that this hotel charges you shouldn't hear anything from the other rooms. When we talked to the staff about the issue they acted like they were confused and didn't offer any suggestions. Won't stay here again. Concierge was great."
