The only negative is that the walls are very thin and there was a domestic dispute in a neighboring room that kept us up. Not the hotel's fault, but if you're a light sleeper, the rooms along the pool area might not be the best fit for you. Opt for the tower instead. We look forward to returning!"

"We stayed overnight at the Fredonia Hotel in Nacogdoches, TX (the oldest town in Texas). While the property itself is beautiful, our experience was extremely disappointing.
We arrived close to 10PM to find that one of our reserved rooms was not yet clean. The staff apologized and gave us breakfast vouchers, which was appreciated. However, shortly after, we were told there was another issue with the room and that we were being “upgraded”...but only if we agreed to pay more. After questioning this several times, the clerk finally agreed to honor our original rate.
The real problem came when we got to the upgraded room: instead of two beds (as we had reserved), there was only one bed for four people. The pull-out sofa in the room had been disabled, and though staff came up to check, they were unable to fix it. My husband and son ended up sleeping on the floor. To make matters worse, I was told that our reserved room had been given to another guest due to a third-party booking, even though we had booked directly with the hotel.
Given that all other area hotels were full for college move-in week, we could have easily been left without a place to stay. While I understand mistakes happen, the lack of communication, accountability, and guest care made this one of the most frustrating hotel experiences we’ve ever had."
