"This State Park has two campgrounds. The North is very wooded and has hills (dunes). There is access to Lake Michigan from this campground. It is also across the street from the Muskegon Spirts Complex. The complex has luge runs, zip lines and walking trails. Pretty nice. They also have a lighted trail for walking at night. We stayed in the Channel Campground which is located by the channel from Lake Michigan to Muskegon Lake. There is only a small beach on Muskegon Lake. The Lake Michigan beach you would have to drive to. Most of the campsites have paved pads for trailers. The rest rooms are good. There is access to several hiking trails which go up into the dunes. These are hiking not bike trails. Overall it has been a relaxing stay."

"From the entrance to the exit this park had everything we could want. We got the beach and trails. Then the sunset. We witnessed the monarch butterfly migration and saw the northern lights all in one day. Don't miss the luge park and all of its activities. Winter, summer or fall this place does have it all."
