What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Richard Siegel Park is highly praised for its extensive and well-maintained soccer facilities, making it a top choice for players and events in Middle Tennessee. Visitors also appreciate the family-friendly playground and picnic areas. However, potential drawbacks include occasional odors from a nearby landfill and the lack of dedicated bus parking for large groups.
"This is a very beautiful Park in area for everybody to come and enjoy the day. My biggest and only complaint is that there is no place for a bus to come in with a group to participate for say a soccer tournament. I brought a group in two or three or four times and had to leave and find a place to park. They're still ample ways to improve on that but it still needs to be done. At least have a place for bus to park"

"Great park but prepare yourself for the smell comig from the landfill! It's worse somedays than others. This park is fantastic. Everything is operated nicely. Workers are friendly. The park is clean and well kept. One of the best fields in Murfreesboro!"

"Beautiful soccer field complex just on June 20th my son playing soccer on the turf It is 89° outside and I'm sure the turf is higher temperature I have concern about the high temperature I would like the corporation to test the temperature of the turf if it is good for players ( plastic heat faster from regular grass)"

👨👩👧 Families with Kids
While the main focus is soccer, the sand volleyball courts can double as a large sandbox, offering additional fun for little ones. The walking trail also provides a gentle option for a family stroll. Just be mindful of the potential for landfill odors on certain days and the heat of the turf fields if children are playing on them during peak sun hours.
⚽ Soccer Teams and Tournament Organizers
A significant challenge for organizers is the lack of dedicated bus parking, which can complicate logistics for large tournaments. It's crucial to plan for this in advance and communicate any parking limitations to participating teams.

Soccer Facilities: A Premier Destination
Visitors have praised the park for having "one of the best fields in Murfreesboro!" However, a point of consideration, particularly for younger players, is the high temperature of the turf fields during hot summer days. While plastic surfaces heat up faster than natural grass, the park's extensive facilities make it a top choice for soccer events.
For those organizing events, it's important to note the lack of dedicated bus parking, which has been a recurring issue for groups arriving via bus for tournaments. This is an area where improvements are still needed to fully accommodate larger gatherings.
Beyond the Pitch: Family Fun and Recreation
Adding to the recreational options are two sand volleyball courts, which some visitors have creatively used as oversized sandboxes for younger children. For those looking for a bit of exercise or a peaceful moment, a small walking trail is also available, offering a pleasant, albeit brief, route for a stroll. The park's commitment to cleanliness and maintenance is evident, with reviewers noting it is "clean and well kept."
