What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Splash Island is a popular choice for families with young children, praised for its dedicated toddler areas and highly attentive lifeguards. However, some visitors note issues with bathroom cleanliness, slow concession service, and a lack of attractions for older kids, particularly the limited options beyond the single 'big slide.' The extremely hot concrete surfaces are also a recurring concern.
"Cute water park for kids. One big slide for 48" and above and the rest is little kid friendly. The staff was friendly and I was very impressed by the lifeguards. They were active, paying attention and in constant rotation and communication. I would say the concrete was extremely hot. I've never encountered a water park that you weren't able to walk on within reason even with excessive heat. This is dangerous especially for little kids. This was the only reason it didnt get a 5 star."

Kendall Brugger
"The waterpark was way more fun expected are six and eight-year-olds had a blast on the waterslide and the splash park and getting goodies from the concession stand"

Navigating the Slides and Attractions
Safety First: Visitors consistently highlight the excellent work of the lifeguards. They are described as active, attentive, and communicative, providing a reassuring presence throughout the park. This vigilance is crucial, especially in areas with varying water depths and slide exits.
Considerations for All Ages: While the park excels for little ones, older kids might find the single large slide insufficient. Some reviews suggest that the park needs more attractions to cater to a wider age range. The 'bubbles with vapor' feature offers a unique, albeit less common, attraction.
Guest Experience and Staff
However, some visitors have pointed out significant drawbacks. The condition of the bathrooms has been criticized as 'awful' by one reviewer. Additionally, the efficiency of the concession stand staff has been questioned, with long wait times and cold food reported. There have also been instances where a 'UFO' (unidentified floating object) incident led to pool closures, highlighting potential maintenance challenges.
Staffing and Supervision: A recurring theme is that the staff is predominantly high schoolers. While they are often friendly, some reviews suggest a need for more supervision to ensure consistent service quality, especially concerning food preparation and facility cleanliness. The park management's response to issues has also been described as 'rude and unhelpful' in one instance.
Summer Fun and Promotions
Seasonal Appeal: The waterpark experience is inherently tied to warm weather, making it a popular choice during summer holidays. The vibrant atmosphere and water-based attractions are designed to offer a refreshing escape from the heat.
Community Engagement: Some locations celebrate milestones, like Splash Island's 10th anniversary, with throwback content and community engagement, fostering a sense of history and connection. This can be a fun way for visitors to reminisce or learn about the park's journey.
