Reviews Summary

Mosquito Pass is lauded for its absolutely epic and breathtaking mountain views, making the challenging 4x4 drive well worth it. Visitors appreciate the scenic beauty, potential wildlife sightings, and the sense of accomplishment. However, the high altitude and rapidly changing weather require careful preparation, and the trail's narrow, exposed sections can be intimidating for some.

"Gets a little rocky, had a stock TRD PRO premium and made it through. There's a fork in the road coming down from the top into alma. Don't go right, its private property and they have it blocked off."

Kara Riner

"I drove Mosquito Pass recently, and the farther you go, the more serious your off-road vehicle needs to be. In my opinion, a locking differential isn’t really necessary — I didn’t see any spots that required it. Along the way I even saw moose, which made the trip feel even more wild and remote.

As you climb higher, you definitely feel the lack of oxygen up top. There’s a section where the trail gets so narrow that turning around would be very difficult, so you need to commit once you go in.

The place is absolutely epic and 100% worth it. I even found a small cave up there, which made the whole adventure feel surreal"

Absolutely need a high clearance 4 wheel drive. Amazing views, lots off roads and photo ops. Weather can change quickly, so dress appropriately."
