"Amazing hike in the gorge! Amazing views of the river at the top and views beyond!! If you go during spring early or late you should be able to see the fields of wildflowers!! Lots of them and different kinds! Pretty short hike not too bad at all, will get hot even still being a shorter hike. Some uphill that seems bad but it’s not to long so it’s not that bad when you’re at the top finally. There’s a nice river at the beginning and a smaller waterfall and a big one. You can use the trail as a loop after you get to the top just keep following the trail back down to the other side. Or just head back down after you make it to the edge to see the river and the high sights! Gets pretty crowded here. Parking is a little down the road there’s no parking like right at the trailhead but the walk from the lot is not far, fills up quick as mentioned though! Enjoy!!"

"Update 5/12/25. Still lots of wildflowers but the sunflowers are almost gone.
I went there at 0900 on a Monday and ran into no one until the very end on our way down. You park before the bridge and walk over. Beautiful wildflowers, switchbacks to get there, then all the top you wind thru and loop back.
It was fun to see which wildflowers grew at each location/elevation. I was sad we missed the sunflowers - would have been better a few weeks ago. But these Columbia Gorge wildflower hikes have been on my bucketlist for a few years now!
I would recommend early and a week day if you want solitude. And again, you'll probably miss the sunflowers now but there are still a lot of beautiful wildflowers right now.
Dog-friendly, no shade - wouldn't recommend in the summer. It was 55-60° and I was sweating in "fall" hiking gear (could have just done lightweight pants and long sleeve. Didn't need my jacket."
