What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Schwabacher Landing for its breathtaking Teton reflections and the chance to see wildlife, especially moose. However, the extreme popularity means very early arrival is necessary to avoid overwhelming crowds and secure a good spot for sunrise photography. The cold morning temperatures and parking challenges are noted drawbacks, but the unforgettable scenery makes it a worthwhile stop.
"We visited Schwabacher Landing the first week of September and it was still very crowded. Even when we drove around 6AM, the parking lot was already packed. If you come later, you’ll likely end up parking very far from the river, which makes the experience less enjoyable. The key is to be there before 5AM like what most people do if you want a decent spot for photos.
It was difficult to get a good shot because of the crowd, everyone was trying to set up for the same view. I wish they would improve the parking situation or maybe create a designated area where people can line up fairly to get their turn for the iconic shot. Until then, it’s really about timing and patience.
That said, the view itself is absolutely breathtaking. Watching the sunrise hit the Teton range and seeing its reflection in the calm river is unforgettable. These were raw, unedited photos captured using my iPhone 15 Pro Max, and the beauty still came through perfectly.
It was very cold that early in the morning, so make sure to wear something warm or bring a blanket. On the positive side, there’s at least one restroom in the area, which is convenient. The view is beautiful, but you’ll need to prepare for the crowds and chilly weather to really enjoy it."

"There’s a reason they’re called the Grand Tetons — the views are on a whole other level of grandeur. The sheer scale and beauty of the landscape truly live up to the name.
We visited about 30 minutes after sunrise, and the view of the Grand Tetons was absolutely stunning. The reflection in the river was beautiful — it would’ve been even more extraordinary right at sunrise. In 2023, we came in the afternoon, and the timing was off — the sun was directly above the peaks, so there was no reflection in the water. This time, the yellow wildflowers added an extra layer of beauty to the already breathtaking landscape. Highly recommend visiting this spot either at Dawn or Dusk."

"This is a magical place to watch the sunrise as it offers a grand illumination of the Tetons. It can be pretty crowded, so arrive at least 30 minutes before the actual sunrise time."
