The climb to the top is often highlighted as a rewarding experience, despite the moderate exertion. "Nice visit, great views, would be a good park for a family picnic, if you don't bring food there is a restaurant on site but we didn't eat there. Bring quarters to use for observation viewers. Climb to the top of the lighthouse is moderate, your legs will burn a little; Views are worth it. Cool history, some people there were helpful, a few did not care to be there."

"Beautiful lighthouse, near the side of the lighthouse is a nice trail that leads you to the ocean side. You can traverse the beach side rocks and hunt down the numbered stepping stones.
Unfortunately there's no parking on the rocks itself (check the pictures) =)
There's also another pretty long trail that you can find after the rock segment.
I really recommend paying a visit out here, such a serene place."

"Very nice half day trip, amazing views, something to experience. You can climb to the top of the lighthouse. Their are bathrooms. The bathrooms and grounds are well kept and clean. Limited food on site and near by area. This is more a spring & summer trip to do. Limited gas stations ⛽️ in the area. You can do everything in about 2 hours. You will need to pay for parking $10. You also need to pay entrance fees for the lighthouse separately. Other places to visit toward the end of long Island is Greenport. Not recommended to go when raining or foggy."
