What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Milwaukee Central Library for its breathtaking architecture and extensive resources, including books, films, and digital access. The friendly staff and engaging children's area are also frequently highlighted. However, some reviews mention unpleasant odors and concerns about cleanliness in certain areas, which detract from the otherwise positive experience.
"Great library with a lot of books, magazines, computers, and resources. There are numerous places for people to sit and work. There are rooms available to rent for various gatherings. The kids area is in its own walled section with a lot of opportunities for kids to engage with texts and materials. The employees seem very kind and the architecture is awesome! I stumbled upon a cool puppet stage and would love to return for a show or childrens activity. I love the Milwaukee library system!"

"My husband and I came to the Milwaukee Central Library to view Art Book Club on a Saturday afternoon. It is an informal art book appreciation club that is once a month. The librarians set out art reference books that are centered around a theme. This particular day the theme was Pairings. The books are set out on tables for a couple of hours for viewing. The public can come in and page through these beautiful art books."

"The staff is kind, helpful & plentiful; great book selection; beautiful architecture. But it stinks so bad like B.O. and urine which is very offensive. The guard ignored a visibly urine- soaked guy walking up and down the center for at least 2 hours while I was there without saying a word. I understand those are uncomfortable situations but it needs to be addressed appropriately if you want this place to survive and thrive. Patrons should be able to feel confident public chairs are clean and free of bodily fluids. I'll happily edit this review if the problem gets resolved. I hope it does because this place is cool."
