What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Million Dollar Beach is praised for its clean water, sandy shoreline, and beautiful lake views, making it a great spot for families with young children due to the supervised shallow swimming area. However, some visitors find the lifeguard rules overly strict and the designated swimming zone too small for adults seeking deeper water.
"We visited million dollar beach and we were overall very happy with the cleanliness of the beach and water. There is a 10 dollar cost to park your car but still worth it. The water is low so it’s enjoyable for people of all ages. The lifeguards can get very annoying with the blowing of the whistles, especially for what seems like
Minor offenses, but they are just doing their jobs. Definitely recommend this beach"

"We had a great time as a family at Lake George's Million Dollar Beach. It's a really nice place to swim, and we felt comfortable with the good lifeguard supervision in the designated swimming areas. We would definitely come back again when we're in the area.
We visited on a Monday (8/11) in the middle of the day, and it was quite crowded. My only minor complaint is that there wasn't a lot of space to lay out towels in the sand, especially near the main walkway and closer to the lake. There was more space available on the side of the building, but those areas didn't have lifeguards, which made it a little difficult to find a spot to relax while still being near a supervised swimming area.
Despite that, it's a great location that's easy to get to, and the locker rooms and bathrooms were clean. Overall, we had a fantastic day and would recommend it for a fun family beach trip."

"Imagine you need a calm, peaceful place where only the sound of ocean waves, seagulls, and children’s laughter surround you. Or maybe you’d like to enjoy a small picnic with your friend circle or take a cruise trip. In that case, Million Dollar Beach is a wonderful spot. I didn’t want to return home, it felt like I should stay a little longer, gazing at the friendship of the sky and mountains, mesmerized by the rhythm of the water’s waves."

Understanding the Lifeguard and Beach Rules
The designated swimming area is intentionally kept shallow, which is excellent for families with very young children who can safely splash and play. For those who prefer to swim in deeper water or are looking for more freedom of movement, this shallow zone might feel restrictive. It's worth noting that while the main beach has lifeguards, the separate dog beach area, which allows for swimming further out, does not have lifeguard supervision.
Visitors looking for a more relaxed beach experience with fewer rules might consider visiting during less crowded times or exploring other areas around Lake George. However, for families prioritizing safety and a supervised environment for young swimmers, Million Dollar Beach remains a popular and convenient choice.
