Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the i.d.e.a. Museum as a fantastic, hands-on art studio perfect for young children, especially on hot days. While many enjoy the creative activities and toddler zone, some reviews mention concerns about cleanliness and safety in certain areas. Overall, it's a highly recommended spot for imaginative play and artistic exploration.

"The Idea Museum is GREAT on hot summer days for 3- and 4-year-olds! Seriously, we’ll go and spend 4 hours there! It’s located right next door to the Natural History (dinosaur) museum in downtown Mesa. We purchased an annual pass for 1 adult plus 1 child, and put both parents’ names on the pass so we can take turns taking our son. Doesn’t open until 12noon on Sundays, but it is open other common school days off, so it’s a good alternative when kids are home from school/preschool. There are LOTS of creative activities like painting, musical Legos, making collages, and building with plastic pipes and wooden boards. It’s very much a play studio—not a science (explanatory) museum. Gotta bring your own lunch. There’s a designated snack area with tables to eat, but the vending machines are very limited."

"We had a fabulous time with our 2 year old! There are some really neat exhibits and hands on activities for all ages. The toddler area was also so fun. I will definitely come back again soon!"

Lauren

"The kids had such a good time, it's a great place for imaginations to soar in kids of all ages, if you're into hands on diy art, activities, or home school your kids, it's a great place to come for, art science, creativity. If you just need a break from the heat, and the pools perhaps, but still need the lil ones energies burnt off this is also a can do it'll help."
