What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Attaquin Park offers a pleasant sandy beach on a beautiful lake, with the convenience of an adjacent brewery. While many enjoy the clean water and family-friendly atmosphere, some visitors have noted concerns about potential odors and cyanobacteria warnings, alongside parking and kayak launch fees.
"Attaquin Park has a nice beach area on the lake. The water looked very clean. There was a small playground at the park as well. There was some construction going on when we stopped so our visit was brief. I only saw a portable potty; however, did not know if it was for public use or by those doing work."

"Very large beautiful lake. Sandy beach . ́lots of parking. Right next door to nokabout brewery
The beach smells as if the septic system is overflowing. Cyanobacteria warning is posted in parking lot.
I brought my kayak to paddle around this beautiful lake. There was a 10 dollar charge to put the kayak in the lake. I have a national park yearly pass. I have a massachusetts park pass and i have a mashpee recreational town pass. Nevertheless it was 10 dollars to put my kayak in the lake. The two town employees taking money were very nice. The three more that were at the landing watching me launch the kayak were informational. It was a lovely spot to spend a day on the water.
The beach/park wasnt crowded.
I have to give it a no/go until the aroma/bacteria problem is gone"

Understanding Water Quality Concerns
While the beach itself is described as sandy and nice, the potential for odors and health warnings means visitors should exercise caution. The presence of construction also impacted one visitor's experience, highlighting that conditions can change. If water quality is a primary concern, it might be worth exploring other nearby lake or beach options if advisories are in effect at Attaquin Park.
Navigating Parking and Fees
For those looking to enjoy the lake from the water, be prepared for a $10 fee to launch a kayak or other watercraft. This fee applies regardless of whether you possess other park passes, such as national park or Massachusetts state park passes. The town employees managing the launch were described as nice, and those observing the launch were informational, suggesting a well-managed, albeit fee-based, system for water access.
