Reviews Summary
Park Cemetery is widely praised for its gorgeous, well-maintained grounds and exceptional landscaping, offering a peaceful environment for nature walks and reflection. However, recent concerns have arisen regarding an increase in theft and the elimination of the live-on-grounds sexton position, impacting the sense of security and ease of access for families.

"I have always have had big respect for park cemetery! It is always well maintained & cared for. But mqt eliminated the live on grounds sexton position & in my opinion this is right up there with one of the worst decisions mqt vould have made for all the families & friends of the deceased. Before you could just go up to the house or you'd see the sexton on the grounds to ask him anything. Theft was non existsnt.. I know people get extremely emotional when they cannot find their loved ones headstone but the sexton was always there to help. Now so many people don't know where to go to find information. Theft is on a rapid incline. (I went to my parents headstone to clean up around there & was utterly shocked to discover someone had dug up and stoke an ENTIRE rose bush that my mother had planted for my dad. It had been growing for 21 years & was huge! So many people came by to pick some rosehips when it was time or cut a small ckippings of it & I had no problem with that but they stole it all! It was almost 7 feet high!. I then learned there has been several thefts lately. Park cemetery is a wonderful place just dint leave any valuable item there. There us also a community garden way in the back. & gardeners will leave various food on a free table. If it wasn't for the 2 issues (theft & no sexton) I would have given Them 10 star!"

The Tesla Ghost Hunting Phenomenon
While these videos are entertaining, it's important to note that Tesla's Autopilot and Full Self-Driving systems are designed to detect objects and other vehicles on the road. The 'ghosts' seen on the display are likely the car's sensors misinterpreting shadows, reflections, or other environmental factors as solid objects. The spooky atmosphere of a cemetery can certainly enhance the perceived eeriness of these readings, making for viral content.
This phenomenon highlights the intersection of technology, popular culture, and the enduring fascination with the supernatural. It's a fun, albeit unscientific, way for people to engage with the idea of ghosts while exploring places like Park Cemetery.
Historical Significance and Preservation
The preservation of these sites is crucial. They offer insights into past societies, architectural styles, and the lives of individuals. However, maintaining these historic grounds can be challenging. As noted in reviews for Park Cemetery, the removal of onsite sexton positions has led to concerns about increased theft and difficulties for families seeking information or assistance with grave maintenance.
Efforts to document and protect these cemeteries are ongoing. Initiatives like 'grave portraits' shared on Instagram aim to celebrate the lives of those interred, turning a somber space into one of remembrance and appreciation. The community's engagement, whether through photography, historical research, or simply respectful visits, plays a vital role in ensuring these historical landscapes endure.
The Art of Grave Portraits
These portraits serve as a beautiful and personal way to remember loved ones, going beyond traditional headstone inscriptions. They can be shared on social media, allowing a wider audience to appreciate the lives and stories of those interred. The hashtag #graveportraits on platforms like Instagram showcases a diverse collection of these touching tributes.
This practice transforms the cemetery into a gallery of life stories, fostering a deeper connection between visitors and the history held within the grounds. It's a modern approach to memorialization that resonates with many seeking to honor their ancestors in a visually engaging way.
