What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Kingwood Center Gardens for its stunning beauty, well-maintained grounds, and the charm of its historic mansion. The diverse gardens, seasonal events, and unique features like the resident peacock are frequently highlighted as major draws. While most experiences are overwhelmingly positive, occasional minor issues with staff interactions or event-specific decor have been noted.
"Went for Christmas at Kingwood. Light displays are worth seeing. We went during snow fall, which made it magical. The house is decorated beautifully. The attendant at the front of the house called my boyfriend a Scrooge though, because we didn't want to have our picture taken, she didn't remember we already had it taken with friends when we first walked in. We had been last year, so this year there seemed to be more of a simplistic decor in the ballroom and a few areas on the garden grounds. It didn't take away from the magic of it though. The community trees are great, decorated from area businesses and awareness groups. Cocoa and snacks and wine provided from Buehlers is always good."

"I love flowers and gardens, and this place is fascinating to visit. We enjoyed our day immensely. The grounds are beautiful, and we appreciated touring the mansion. They also have a snack shop with a variety of heavier meal options, and the prices are reasonable. I highly recommend visiting Kingwood Center Gardens. They have special events happening, so be sure to check the website for current information. When we were there, they had a violet sale."

"I attended a regional garden club meeting here and didn't expect much really. Boy, was I mistaken! Upon 1st exiting the entry building into the garden, there were 2 enormous bald cyprus trees in view. They were so big, It made me turn right around and ask the staff in the building if they knew the age. They said those trees were growing since before the property was designed so quite well over 100 years ago. The rest of the grounds were almost as impressive. Trees and plants I've never known before. The greenhouse was impressive too! We'll worth a visit for anyone who loves nature!"
