What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Rose Hill Cemetery is praised for its historical significance, beautiful Victorian-era monuments, and the poignant graves of music legends like the Allman Brothers. Visitors appreciate the peaceful atmosphere and the opportunity to explore Macon's past. However, some find the hilly terrain and tight driving paths challenging.
"Beautiful cemetery. We went to see the resting place of Greg, Duane, Butch and Berry and saw a lot more. Found the Bond Tomb and Little Martha too. Amazing place filled with history."

"A very interesting cemetery with a lot of history. It was created when the city realized that the City Cemetery (see my review) would not be adequate for their growth. The terrain is very hilly and the roadways are tight. It contains notable people from the 1800's to the present, including Greg & Duane Allman, Confederate soldiers and separate sections for different faiths. I could have spent much more time there and plan to return one day."

"Very tight driving spaces and hard to maneuver this place, but this cemetery is my second favorite after Bonaventure. Beautiful marbled statues and mausoleums. The place was so large and hot that I could barely see a fraction of it. The best plan is to park outside and walk in, but if you come to see Duane Allman grave drive down and park by the train tracks. Also, humans make good food for plants and wildflowers"
