The availability of multiple parking spots and the generally easy terrain are frequently highlighted as positives. However, some users note that trail signage can be minimal, and preparedness for mosquitos and muddy conditions is advised.
"A great park of the hiking trail. The trail weaves back and forth across the road and around campsites. Because of this, it is pretty easy to find parking along the side of the road and jump on the trail in multiple areas.
Some parts of the trail take you right along the water, but some are on the other side in the woods. At no point do you wander too deep into the woods.
It's pretty easy hiking, but there are some hills."

"One of my favorites up here. Lots of great memories, great place to fish, kayak and wooith your female. Recommended to any couple who need a getaway. Free camp spots, clean area not to busy at all. Sky park is right down the road if you dig the stars. AJL5"

"OK, bear with me. I went to the exact spot Google took me to, expecting to see a sign posted or something to clue someone in that THIS spot is the NCT trailhead. Just basically stopped the vehicle in the middle of the dirt road. Looked around for trails going into the woods, saw trails leading to various different campsites, sure. saw a TWO track trail (that we ended up walking on for a lil bit, but just came to the conclusion that was NOT the trail). But we came to the realization that the road ITSELF is the trail. Blue markers on the trees along the road. we drove down the road to the dead end. Saw what MIGHT be trails at the dead end. but again, no signs posted. Is this standard for NCT system? sad, if so. I'd like to get more into hiking, but when such a big trail system can't even be bothered to post signs or maps, it's doesn't give me much confidence.
Can anyone verify, IS the ROAD the trail? Thanks!"
