Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Flag Ponds Nature Park for its beautiful beach and excellent fossil hunting opportunities, especially for shark teeth and Ecphora shells. The availability of bathrooms and outdoor showers is a plus. However, some find the entry fee high, particularly for non-county residents, and the long walk to the beach can be challenging. The presence of jellyfish in summer can also be a significant drawback, with a lack of advance warning sometimes leading to disappointment.

"It's a beautiful beach, lots of seashells and we heard shark teeth (unfortunately we didn't have any luck find teeth). We brought a wagon to bring all our beach toys, cooler, and towels, it's so helpful for the walk to the beach. There are bathrooms and showers available.

important to note
-there is an entry fee
-there is a half mile walk from the parking lot to beach
-there is handicap parking that is closer to the beach but there is still a shorter walk (boardwalk)"

Nancy Winters (Davila)

"Went in July and there was lots of jellyfish in the water. We still swam and they did not bite us but it was not ideal. Outside the water there was a lot of horse flies and biting flies
Come prepared with bug spray. You can follow d fossils by the cliffs. Cool place but be ready for the element. With two kids 2 and under it was not ideal"

Megan Fox

"A rather nice park. The bathroom facilities within decent walking distance of the beach are rare at a park like this. Slightly disappointed that non-county residents have to pay quadruple the normal price."
