What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Reviewers consistently praise The Rawls Course for its challenging and beautiful design, pristine conditions, and friendly staff. The course offers a true test of golf, especially with the West Texas wind, and the food at the clubhouse is a pleasant surprise. Some find the rough to be extremely difficult, and 'cart path only' days can significantly slow down play and impact the value for higher handicappers.
"Group of 10 golfers this course adequately accommodated with ease, The checkin process was seamless, Staffers were on-it with golf cart movement that allowed us to photo-op with logo'd material. Staff Marshal George, Noland + 2 counter checkin personnel of Mgr + young lady (name forgotten) set the tone of a good day of golfing. Not to mention, the young Man grilling up the hot dogs & frequent visit of Refresher Carts. The grounds were maintained & scenery pleasant However, we lost balls!! Will recommend this establishment. Will be back to visit."

For Different Travelers
Tailored advice for your travel style
👨👩👧 Families with Kids
Consider bringing younger children for a short visit to the clubhouse or to watch golfers on the easier-to-access holes. The welcoming staff are generally accommodating, and the scenic views can be appreciated even by non-golfers. However, the course's difficulty and focus on serious play might not be ideal for very young children to actively participate in a full round.
💰 Budget Travelers
Consider booking tee times during less popular hours or exploring twilight rates if available. While the green fee might be higher than a municipal course, the quality of the design and maintenance often justifies the cost for golf enthusiasts.
🎓 Texas Tech Students & Alumni
It's a fantastic place to host alumni events or simply revisit cherished memories from your college days. The course proudly displays Texas Tech branding, making it a great spot to show your Red Raider spirit.
