What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Fairgrounds Park for its excellent family-friendly amenities, including a fantastic new toddler playground and good river access for wading and tubing. The Sunday farmers market is a highlight, offering local produce and crafts. Some minor drawbacks include inconsistent splash pad hours and occasional restroom closures during winter.
"I brought my two little ones here to release some energy and while I didn’t release at the time of taking this beautiful picture of an old home with a breathtaking sky, I later found that this was a historical site recognized not just locally but federally. So if you’re into history and have kids this is a park worth visiting. The park is great for all ages."

"Beautiful park. There's a covered play area for little kids by a bunch of picnic benches and a bigger playground for kids. Nice river access you can wade in. Lots of seating for adults and parking. Splash pad and bathrooms were closed when we went, unfortunately, even though it's July and hot."

"Lots of space for kids to run around. My 21 month old had a blast. Splash pad looks fun but not sure when the hours are. I've looked on the website and there's no signage in the playground with info.
There are nice trails and you can get in parts of the river. The current is pretty fast so I wouldn't recommend for littles.
We also come here on Sunday for the farmers market and that does not disappoint. Not too many vendors but just enough. Plus our favorite booth, miller farms, are there. They have a fill your bag situation and it's fabulous. Veggies for the week for only $15.
There are plenty of restrooms and they are clean. The handicap stall in the women's restroom does NOT have a lock.
Update: the new toddler playground is AMAZING. The restrooms are unfortunately locked Monday-Thursday. There is a porta-potty available. 👎🏻"

River Recreation: Tubing & Wading
When planning your river adventure, consider bringing water shoes for comfort and protection. The riverbed can have slippery rocks. While the river is a major draw, remember that its flow is natural and can change rapidly. Always prioritize safety and be aware of your surroundings.
