"Not very happy at all with Humana Advantage. They cut my fathers insurance off when he is stuck in a rehab facility and is immobile due to a torn tricep on his left arm which he used and leaned heavily on to be able to get up out of his recliner to go to the bathroom. He was walking with 2 canes once he would get up because of his right hip and left knee. His left knee is full of Arthritis and he has a right hip that is also full of degenerative osteoarthritis. He is not able to go home because he cannot get up on his own and my 68 year old mother cannot help him up at all…… so he has been in a rehab facility for 5 weeks now and he did one appeal and won it. Then 4 days later they made him do 2 appeal’s and lost. He is still unable to go home due to him not being able to get up on his own. The therapist and rehab doctors have made it clear he is not able to go home and now he is having to pay an ungodly amount of money each day to stay there or it’s figure out a way to go home and how you recover or get better is on us as a family. So thank you for being concerned for my father’s well being, Let alone how he is going to be able to pay for him to stay and make him mobile again. You’ve really put a strain and stress on our family as if we haven’t been stressed enough about my father’s condition. It shows you all only care about saving money and don’t give a damn about my father or his family. It’s ashamed he worked hard all his life for 50 years and didn’t have health insurance for 40 + years and the minute he finally has Medicare and supplemental you guys cut him off after 29 days in a rehab facility. Great job. I don’t see how you all sleep at night knowing you cut someone off when they are no where near at full enough recovery. Rant over."

"Humana is one of the worst insurance companies when it comes to processing reimbursement claims. My mom and I have been working disappointingly, tirelessly and upsettingly since April 2025 on an issue.
Each time we call, we speak to a rep and a manager; and receive a different reason for the denial from both. We are told they’ve put notes for others to read, but when we call back - no notes. We’ve also been promised call backs with a status.
Have we been called? No.
Has my Mom been reimbursed? No.
Would I recommend Humana? No."

"Signed up, and never received cards, never got emails, no one can tell me anything after 6 DAMN calls! Left 3 meessages in a week for the person who blew sunshine up my rear telling me she was the go to person. I haven't even used them yet and I'm filing a complaint with Medicare. Absolute gross incompetence. DO NOT USE HUMANA AT ALL!"

The Architectural Vision of Michael Graves
Graves's design for the Humana Building is characterized by its distinctive silhouette, featuring setbacks that create a stepped pyramid effect, and its use of classical motifs like arches and columns, albeit reinterpreted in a modern context. The building's facade incorporates a variety of materials and colors, adding visual interest and a departure from monochromatic modern structures. This approach aimed to create a building that was not only functional but also aesthetically engaging and memorable.
Beyond its visual appeal, the Humana Building was designed to be a landmark that contributes to the urban fabric of downtown Louisville. Its unique form and prominent location have made it an iconic part of the city's skyline. While primarily serving as corporate headquarters, its architectural significance has made it a point of interest for design enthusiasts and visitors seeking to appreciate notable examples of 20th-century architecture.
Experiencing the Humana Building as a Visitor
While interior access is generally limited to employees, the ground floor rotunda is sometimes accessible and offers a glimpse into Graves's interior design vision. This space is known for its grand scale and thoughtful detailing. It's advisable to check with local information sources or building management if there are any specific public viewing opportunities, though these are rare.
When visiting, consider the time of day for the best photographic results. The Humana Building is best enjoyed as a visual landmark, a piece of art integrated into the city, rather than a destination with public amenities.
