Reviews Summary

Dansungsa is celebrated for its unique, graffiti-covered walls and authentic Korean street food, particularly its affordable skewers. While the lively, sometimes loud atmosphere and potential for long waits are noted, most visitors find the experience well worth it for the delicious food and vibrant ambiance. Some service interactions have been less than ideal, but the overall consensus is positive.

"First time here, we heard the wait can be up to and hour or more as they don't take reservations so we got there when they opened.
The area is not in a fancy part of LA and the parking lot is small. Its free parking till the restaurant opens then it's cash only valet.
Once inside it's pretty dark and sitting is tight. The walls have writing and stickers from past visitors which is interesting so bring something to leave your mark.
Menu has a lot of skewers options besides platters. They brought us a small bowl of soup to start with while we selected our food. It was wonderful. We ordered a variety of skewers, some platters and a bottle of raspberry wine and it was all delicious. My favorites were the beef bulgogi, steamed potstickers and cheese corn.
I do recommend trying this place if you like Korean food and a fun atmosphere."

"I visited this restaurant yesterday with two friends. We waited about 20 minutes outside, and even after being seated, we had to wait another 15 minutes before anyone came to our table. We eventually had to call for service ourselves.

We were genuinely excited to dine there. Our first server was kind and helpful, he explained the menu and offered good recommendations. However, later a female staff member wearing glasses approached our table repeatedly, and instead of checking in politely, her manner made us feel uncomfortable.

When we requested the check, she brought it, but overall the service did not feel attentive. For that reason, we left an 18% tip. She then reviewed the receipt in front of us and asked, “What does it mean, only this amount?” Her tone expressed clear disappointment, which made the situation awkward."

"A Korean pub in LA full of character!
It’s a very popular spot with long lines — we waited about an hour to get in, but it was totally worth it. The food was delicious, the prices were reasonable, and the atmosphere was great. Definitely a place I want to visit again next time!"
