What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Art Theatre for its historic charm, unique film selections, and vibrant community events like Rocky Horror and film festivals. The atmosphere is a welcome departure from modern multiplexes. However, parking is consistently cited as a significant challenge, and some find the theatre's seating slope problematic for viewing subtitles.
"The Art theater Long Beach California.
Located in an eclectic area of Long Beach , the theater is 100 years old and reminds me of the Iowa Theater in winterset Iowa.
The theater was bright and clean in the lobby. Seats were comfortable. The movie screening went prefect."

"Visited this weekend for the Cambodia Town Film Festival. Ordered a mimosa from the concession before heading in to the showing. $10 a drink is a good price and not outrageous pricing like your commercial movie box office.
So there are some things that were annoying, such as the horrendous parking situation. Parking is hard to find. Come early or come with some with a handicap placard. Accessible parking is located in the back along with a public parking lot where you can pay to park.
Being an older theater, the slope isn't steep enough for a short person to read subtitles if theres a tall person or someone with hair up to high heaven sitting in front of you. I was that short person sitting behind a tall person with poofy hair.
Cup holders in the theater are attached to the back of the seats, so use the one in front of you or just place your drink on the floor."

"Historical theater that has been here over 100 years. They do really cool showings of older movies and special screenings of indie films. Highly recommend for a classic theater experience. It’s not the AMC theater in the best ways possible. Only thing that is an issue is parking so come a little earlier than you think. Once you find a spot though, the theater is awesome."
