What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find the Japanese Garden at Micke Grove a peaceful oasis in Lodi, perfect for quiet reflection. While some note it's smaller and not as meticulously maintained as other gardens, its serene atmosphere and the charm of its koi ponds are appreciated. The park also offers a zoo and playgrounds, making it a good option for families, though parking fees and potential afternoon closures should be noted.
"Little oasis in Lodi. Heard about the Japanese Garden and remembered that Hugh Howser visited the garden in one of his shows. Though the garden was not in pristine condition when I visited midmorning in the Fall, it can still help balance life, quiet your soul, and bring peace and solitude."

"I'm from SF, so I wanted to compare this Japanese Garden with the one in the city. No comparison. This garden is very VERY small by comparison, spiderwebs EVERYWHERE, plants were not well cared for, there were stray cats (which I actually liked the cute felines), and the parking had feces EVERYWHERE. While it is quiet, I wish this park/garden was better cared for. If you're afraid of spiders, I'd stay away."

"If you are looking for a place for peace and quiet you'll get a bit here. Minus the random trains that pass by. The park is not well kept like other Japanese gardens we've been to around the states. It's a decent place to walk around. We stopped for a bit of tea but the pond doesn't smell good. Disappointed with the tea house. They don't use real tatami"
