Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about Caumsett State Historic Park Preserve for its stunning natural beauty, extensive trails, and historical significance. Many appreciate the peaceful atmosphere, especially on the beach, and the opportunities for birdwatching and cycling. Some note that certain trails could be better marked, and the rose garden was a bit sparse during one visit.

"It is a very nice place for a walk. The main path is paved and is 3 miles long. There are other paths to take especially one that goes down pass the pond and to the beach but do not go after rain since it will be muddy. There are 2 restroom, one at the start and one in the middle of the main path."

Pei Wu

"Great coverage of horse roads, beach, and forest. The rose garden was a bit sparse, but well maintained. Some of the trails were harder to find as they aren't marked and green grass grew on top of them.
We spent 4 hours exploring the outer perimeter, so it's worth spending a day here"

Kin

"Really amazing place on LI for a hike! I chose a ~5 mi loop via alltrails and loved it. A little something for everyone here, history, wildlife, woods, beach. Really neat how the trail winds through the woods beside Long Island sound. It looks like there is a road that takes you down to Fisherman's beach if you acquire a permit for those who can't walk that far but still want to enjoy the beach area."
