What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Maumelle Park is widely praised as an immaculately maintained, beautiful campground on the Arkansas River, offering ample shade and spacious sites. Visitors appreciate the peaceful atmosphere, convenient location, and proximity to outdoor activities like hiking and boating. While bathrooms are basic, they are kept very clean. Some campers note that river-level sites can flood, and booking popular sites with private bathrooms well in advance is essential.
"As of today this is officially amongst our favorite public campgrounds. This is an Army COA maintained park. It is immaculately cared for with beautiful & huge hardwood shade trees. It sits right on the Arkansas River on the far west side of the city of Little Rock, which is certainly convenient for travelers passing through like us (but also nice enough to stay a few days). It is located in the absolutely stunning Pinnacle Valley, which is not too far from the Pinnacle Mountains of the far eastern Ozarks. There's a good amount of space between sites with paved pads & they have attached picnic tables on level pads, as well. Bathrooms are basic & old style but immaculately clean with hot & cold running water. Boat ramp & parking lot is huge. You also have a choice of staying at the river level or on a small ridge that overlooks the campground. We stayed on the ridge."
