This hike will squeeze every penny out of you (literally) but it will be worth it 🍋 💸 Lost River Gorge & Boulder Caves is a fun hike in Lincoln, New Hampshire that takes you through mossy boardwalks, flowing waterfalls, and about dozen boulder caves along the way. The most famous cave is known as the Lemon Squeezer and it certainly lived up to its name. If you’re claustrophobic or just not down f...

Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Minute Man Visitor Center for its free admission, informative exhibits, and engaging 4D theater, making it a valuable historical resource. The helpfulness of park rangers and the availability of NPS passport stamps are also frequently highlighted. Some note the long, unshaded walk from the parking lot and potential challenges on unpaved outdoor trails for mobility devices.

"We visited on a Friday in mid-June 2025.

We arrived around opening and there was plenty of parking spots. Spaces for dozens of cars. The lot looked pretty freshly paved with asphalt it was very smooth. What we weren't preferred for was the long walk from the parking lot to the actual visitor center.

It was a solid concrete side walk the entire way but be prepared for the walk. There is also very little shade in the parking lot and parts of the path.

The visitor center itself is covered in wood paneling which was different. Inside was very nice with brick floors. There are a number exhibits right when you enter. To the left is the park store with merch. There is a small table in the store with the NPS Passport Cancellation Stamp.

The best part of the visitor center is their 4D interactive theater. I've only seen these a couple other places like the NC Wildlife Refuge complex or the the Jamestown settlement (non-NPS) museum. There are structures with lights and projectors and animations. Keeps even the ADHD folks entertained.

They also offer programs in the park throughout the day at different sites. There is a sign here but you can also ask the rangers and volunteers in the visitor center.

Overall we probably would visit again because we didn't have the time to hike the entire trail but drove to some of the highlights."

"Great historical walk,I managed it in a manual wheelchair just the odd part the gravel was very loose/deep so it was a bit harder going but still ok. The staff in the centre were very helpful and knowledgeable"

"Even though this was in the middle of their busiest time EVER - the Rev250 Celebration, the Park Rangers were nice, welcoming, and pleasant. The sales folks in the center were also very calm and respectful, when we knew they were overworked and exhausted from all of the traffic [record attendance] throughout the weekend.
We watched a wonderfully informative half-hour movie, visited the gift store, and received easy to follow instructions for our visit to nearby historical places - North Bridge, Col. Barrett House, among others.

Highly recommended!

The simple layout of weaponry was very interesting, as was the difference of musket ball sizes."
