What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Lydgate Beach Park is overwhelmingly praised as an exceptional destination for families and beginner snorkelers, thanks to its calm, protected lagoons. Visitors appreciate the free amenities, ample parking, and the overall safe and enjoyable atmosphere. While some note the snorkeling isn't the most vibrant, the convenience and peace of mind it offers are highly valued.
"Amazing beach. Perfect for families with little kids. This beach offers 2 ponds/sections; one for smaller kids with shallow water and the larger section for everyone else. Not too deep. Perfect area for snorkeling and spending a day by the beach."

"This is a pretty cool beach, especially if you come with young kids. We visited it on our last day so we didn't actually get to swim in it, but several people were snorkeling and the water was very calm. There are 2 separate swimming areas that are kind of blocked off from waves as you can see in the pictures. Of, course some waves come over the rocks, but nothing crazy. Definitely a good beach to check out just to see or if you are looking for calm waters. You can see in the pictures and video, outside of the "designated" swimming areas you would not want to swim as there is tons of drift wood everywhere and lots of rocks."

"Wonderful beach. Plenty of parking, picnic tables and bathroom facilities. Nice maintained walking paths just off the sand. Beach itself was nice and soft. Not a lot of room for a bunch of people and umbrellas but that is ok. This is a great beach to come down and eat a meal, walk the paths and take a quick dip in the water."
