What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Gifford Pinchot State Park is praised for its free family-friendly activities, especially around Pinchot Lake, which offers boating, swimming, and accessible entry. Campers appreciate the clean, spaced sites, though some note dated shower facilities and uncomfortable mattresses. Hikers enjoy the trails but should be prepared for mud and potential overgrowth.
"Last time I was there was 2006 and the camp shower bathrooms have not been updated since then. Y'all, we need to start a Go Fund me so they can update the shower rooms. Everywhere else I have camped in NY and PA had lovely updated bathrooms. These leave a lot to be desired. Gifford Pinchot is a great Park, but this needs to be fixed up."

"Free Family Fun, pack a picnic, bring the beach stuff and enjoy an afternoon on the lake. Note they dont have sand directly in the water but they have a volleyball court and another sand area for kids to play. We enjoyed the playground the most. For those who are handicapped they even have a ramp that goes the whole way into the water so everyone can enjoy the lake ❤️"

"Did the whole lakeside trail loop back on May 19th. Ended up being almost 10 miles long. There was a lot of mud, probably the most I have ever seen on a trail. There were some parts of the trail that were overgrown and some that were ready to get lost on, but the mud was the biggest problem. However, when the mud wasn't an issue on the trail, it was very enjoyable. It is also a great place to go kayaking. If you go hiking, wear orange as there are hunting areas nearby."
