Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise the Buffalo Bill Museum for its surprising depth and the unique experience of exploring the Lone Star sternwheeler. While named for Buffalo Bill, the museum offers a rich tapestry of local history, including the pearl button industry and early technology, all at a very reasonable price. Some visitors noted the museum's name might not fully reflect its diverse exhibits.

"My wife & I was visiting Le Claire for a long weekend. Wonderful small town with plenty of shopping opportunities. The museum isn't huge, and doesn't need to be. But our favorite part was the old paddle boat. Being able to walk around on board the boat was great! Really interesting experience for us both. If your in Le Claire, do yourself a favor and visit this museum!"

Matthew Bromeland

"A nice museum, friendly and knowledgeable staff. A lot of different items on display. Self guided at your own pace to see the area's history, as well as Buffalo Bill's history. The Lone Star, was fun to explore."

Ginger Schaupp

"A very nice small museum packed with lots of artifacts and history of the area including BB. Reasonably priced and definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area.

I wasn’t familiar with the pearl button industry and found the display fascinating!

Since I didn’t read the reviews before I went, pleasantly surprised at the amount of non BB stuff. Maybe a museum name change is in order."
