What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the historical significance and well-maintained outdoor exhibits at Fort Sill Old Post Quadrangle. The free audio tour and knowledgeable docents enhance the experience, offering a glimpse into frontier military life. However, potential closures of indoor exhibits due to government shutdowns can be a disappointment.
"We actually came to Fort So for the Artillery Museum, and we didn't about an hour on the lawn examining all the outdoor displays, which were very well-kept with informative placards for each item. When we decided to go inside, we realized the sign on the door said "closed due to government shutdown." Wah-waa! But we really enjoyed the outside, anyway. Then we went into the quadrangle to see if that midterm was open. It was not, however, you can walk around the quadrangle accompanied by a free guided audio tour accessed by cell phone. We spent another hour doing that. We would love to have seen all the indoor exhibits. We'll come back!"

"This was a great little museum to learn about the history of Fort Sill. The man at the front desk was great and informed us on how everything worked and told us what was open. Even explained to my wife about the old horse corrals that looked original weren’t actually original and that the Army recently started using them again for the Calvary horses! I recommend this stop if you have access to the base and love learning about history even the Native American history of the area."

"I'm a huge fan of history. There was plenty to learn, and it was free. There is a donation box. I appreciated that. I just needed a visitor pass to enter."
