What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Guests generally praise the W Las Vegas for its spacious, clean suites and convenient location near the airport and Allegiant Stadium. However, some reviews note a decline in upkeep and service compared to previous stays, with specific complaints about room cleanliness and the 'nickel-and-diming' approach to amenities like the mini-fridge. The shared pool experience with Mandalay Bay can also be a drawback due to crowds.
"I really enjoyed my stay at the W. The rooms are a great size. The corner suite has a cool view. Everything was really nice. I liked the location a lot, super near the airport and the things I wanted to do.
Pros:
1: Very clean with neutral but elevated esthetic
2: airport is super close but the sound proofing is well done so it's a positive
3: two bathrooms were worth it
4: great (maybe best?) sport book
Cons:
1: no mini fridge for you, only for their criminally over priced drinks
2: location is a pro and a con. Its very easy to get in and out of the hotel. However, as it's on the beginning of the strip, everything north can be a hike. Very walkable to the stadium"

"We used to love this hotel, unfortunately it’s gone downhill. This time we even booked a corner room at an upgraded price. The room overlooked the roof next door and the road below, so not worth it. Also there were multiple examples of cleaning not being done, such as a dirty full length mirror with handprints, toothpaste around the sink, a tag from new clothes on the floor, and crumbs on the desk. Also. We were on the 12th floor, so unfortunately we could hear the street below and heard multiple trucks going over the speed bumps, as well as ambulances. I just like quiet in my rooms and am willing to pay for it, so I wish I would’ve known, especially for an upgraded room."

"The beds were very comfortable and the room itself was nice, but it could have been a little more modern and up to par with other W Hotels. Some of the furniture looked rough — the office chair looked like it had been through a bar fight, and the mini fridge they brought us (which they mentioned they usually charge for) looked like it was beaten with a baseball bat.
The Bathhouse spa was completely booked up during our stay, so we didn’t get to experience that part. Also worth noting that there’s no separate pool for W guests — everyone shares the Mandalay Bay pool, which was absolutely packed with kids. It felt more like a crowded water park than a relaxing hotel pool. The lounge chairs were practically touching, and the whole area could’ve been much more spacious.
I get that it’s Vegas, but it really feels like you’re being nickel-and-dimed for everything. There’s no microwave, and the in-room fridge can’t be used because it’s full of drinks you’ll be charged for if you move anything. We bought a bottle of wine downstairs and asked for a wine key — turns out it would be $14 for the key and $9 to bring it to the room, and they couldn’t even open it for us at the bar.
The constant nickel-and-diming cheapened the experience and made it feel a lot less luxurious than it should have been. Service was also below average — staff didn’t seem to have much of a sense for hospitality or friendly service, which is disappointing for a W Hotel.
Comfortable stay overall, but definitely not the best value or experience compared to other W properties. Pretty ironic for a hotel whose room phone says “Whatever, Whenever.”"

Tailored advice for your travel style
👨👩👧 Families with Kids
Consider the hotel's location at the southern end of the Strip. While convenient for airport access, it means longer travel times to attractions further north. The Evolution of the W Las Vegas: From Delano to W
Travelers who previously enjoyed the Delano might find the W offers a similar spaciousness but with a different vibe. While the core structure and suite layouts remain, the decor and amenities are being updated to reflect the W Hotels' bold and contemporary brand. This transition is an ongoing process, and some reviews suggest a mix of familiar comfort and new W touches.
Understanding this history can help set expectations. While the hotel aims for a luxurious experience, the transition period might mean some elements are still being refined. The key takeaway is the consistent offering of spacious suites and a prime location, now with the added flair of the W brand.
Navigating the Southern Strip & Beyond
However, this southern positioning means that many of the iconic central and northern Strip attractions are a considerable distance away. While walkable to some venues, guests planning to explore the heart of the Strip extensively might find themselves relying on rideshares, taxis, or public transportation like the Deuce bus. This can add to travel time and costs, so factor this into your itinerary planning.
Despite being slightly removed from the busiest central Strip areas, the W Las Vegas offers a more tranquil base compared to some of the more chaotic hotels. Its connection to Mandalay Bay provides immediate access to a vast array of dining, entertainment, and gaming options without needing to venture far.
The Suite Experience: Space and Views
Many of these suites, particularly the corner suites, boast impressive floor-to-ceiling windows that offer panoramic views of the Las Vegas Strip or the surrounding desert landscape. These vistas can be a highlight of the stay, especially during sunset or at night when the city lights up. While the hotel has undergone renovations, the spaciousness and the quality of the views from these suites remain a strong selling point.
It's worth noting that while the suites are spacious, some reviews mention that certain furnishings might show signs of wear, and the aesthetic might not be as cutting-edge as in newer W properties. However, the overall consensus is that the ample space and the potential for stunning views make the suite experience a worthwhile consideration for a Las Vegas stay.
