What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Lakeside Chautauqua for its charming, historic atmosphere, beautiful Lake Erie setting, and family-friendly activities. Many appreciate the peaceful environment and the opportunity to step back in time. However, some find the gate fees and overall cost to be high, and a few reviews mention concerns about attire and the community's Christian overtone.
"Came here for a family reunion. I like a lot about it, the community is nice, and there are some good activities, especially for younger kids.
There is a non denominational Christian overtone to the place that I don’t like in theory but in practice wasn’t a big deal.
The fees to come in aren’t cheap but it costs money to run the place. really creepy though that they want to see your ticket on the way OUT. “Papers please.”"
Daniel Pritts
"Not a place i would bring children. Shirts aren't worn in restaurants and thong bikinis are everywhere. So many people barely wearing any clothing and it's super uncomfortable with all the bear rear ends everywhere. This place has definitely changed over the years and definitely not for the better. If you like the South Beach atmosphere with people barely clothed and doing inappropriate things, then this place is for you! The staff and store owners are very sweet."
Suzie Burns
"great place for everyone. ask for the shoppers' pass at the gate, and you can check it out for 2 hours at no charge. beautiful lake front walk, gorgeous flowers everywhere, places to shop and eat. On the downside, it is overall pricey."
