Reviews Summary
Lakeland Community Theatre is widely praised as a community gem, celebrated for its talented local performers and high-quality productions that rival professional stages. Visitors appreciate the immersive experience, the dedication of staff and volunteers, and the theatre's beautiful location by Lake Mirror. While most reviews are overwhelmingly positive, one reviewer noted a specific performance that was not well-rated and felt mis-marketed.
"Lakeland Community Theatre is an absolute gem in the heart of our city. My family and I have attended multiple productions here, and each time we leave amazed, inspired, and proud to be part of a community that celebrates the arts so passionately. The talent on stage rivals professional theaters—whether it’s a musical, drama, or youth performance, the cast brings energy, emotion, and authenticity that’s hard to find anywhere else.
The production quality is top-notch: lighting, sound, costumes, and set design are all thoughtfully executed, creating an immersive experience from the moment the curtain rises. But what truly sets LCT apart is the heart behind it. You can feel the dedication of the volunteers, staff, and performers in every detail. It’s more than entertainment—it’s a celebration of creativity, collaboration, and local pride.
Lakeland is lucky to have this theatre. It’s a place where families bond, kids discover their passion, and adults reconnect with the magic of live performance. If you haven’t been yet, you’re missing out on one of the best cultural treasures in town. Bravo to everyone who makes it happen!"

"We had a lovely show at a fair price, $30 per adult. The theater is located on Lake Mirror which is itself home to a beautiful park. We'll definitely be back for future shows."

"I just volunteered at a performance of the Great American Trailer Park which was rated PG13 Sunday at 2pm. The theater was only about 1/2 full. The f-bomb flew throughout the play as well as sexual comments and gestures and the use of drugs... and the singers screamed words rather than singing them. I noticed a bunch of people left at intermission and I did not see anyone smiles or laugh as people departed the theater at the end of the performance. It is sad because the plays used to be quite good. People attend plays to be entertained and this performance was not entertaining nor properly rated. Whoever is in charge needs to rethink the mission statement of the theater."
