What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Guests frequently praise Geneva National Resort & Club for its beautiful and well-maintained golf courses, particularly the Palmer Course, and the excellent dining at the Turf restaurant. The staff is often described as friendly and accommodating. However, some visitors have expressed disappointment with room cleanliness, maintenance issues, and the resort's spread-out layout, suggesting it can feel less like a cohesive resort and more like separate facilities.
"The Palmer course was beautiful - and lunch was incredible - ask for Robbie. He recommended the prosciutto and grilled peach salad - it was a 10/10 and their iced tea was fantastic (coming from a southerner!). Will definitely be back as soon as I can! The Dancefloor is also a blast."

"The website is very misleading and the fact that they market themselves as a resort is a big stretch. We stayed at The Lodge and everything is very spread out that shuttles are required to get to the other parts of the "resort". The rooms are nicely appointed but it almost seems like they ran out of money to complete the new decor as many things are missing. Housekeeping by request only. The Italian restaurant was rough to say the least. The 1 bartender on a Friday night was doing her best with little support. Our food arrived cold, but we didn't say anything given her efforts. No background music either which was odd. Dirty floors and carpets throughout and no manager presence whatsoever through the weekend. For $400 a night in Wisconsin with a room that faces the parking lot of an old Holiday Inn the overall experience was very underwhelming. You can do better."

"The front desk staff was very welcoming and helpful. It’s a large property and we really appreciated the help navigating the grounds from the front desk staff. We stayed one night in a suite. The room was spacious but not as clean as we’d expected. There was hair on the shower wall, foot prints visible in the bathroom on the tile, toilet paper roll had like 10 sheets on it and was folded over in a neat design rather than changed, and stains on one of the beds top sheets. For the price we paid I would’ve expected more effort. We just ended up removing the sheets and cleaned up on our own since we were only there one night. We were traveling with a toddler who was ready for bed as well so we didn’t want to hassle with changing rooms or having it cleaned while we waited. Also, didn’t care for housekeeping trying to get into our room in the morning before checkout. We checked out around 9:50am and there were two attempts to come into our room prior. That seemed very early and was a bit frustrating. On another note, the Turf restaurant was nice and the ground are beautiful. We may come back just for lunch one day but the room cleanliness/ experience was off putting."

Maintenance issues, such as non-functional air conditioning, have also been reported, with temporary fixes like box fans being provided instead of immediate repairs.
Despite these criticisms, the beautiful grounds and the top-notch golf courses remain significant draws. Many guests express a desire to return, often for a day trip focused on golf or dining at the Turf restaurant, suggesting that while the accommodation experience can be inconsistent, the core offerings of Geneva National are highly valued.
