Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise Heaps Peak Arboretum for its stunning natural beauty, particularly the majestic sequoia grove and the unique vanilla-like scent of Jeffrey Pines. The well-maintained, accessible trails make it enjoyable for all ages and even dog owners. While parking fees are requested via donation and restrooms could be better maintained, the overall experience is highly positive, offering a peaceful escape into nature.

"The hubs and I took our pups here on Labor Day.. We arrived around 8am and did the whole hike and it took about an hour with a couple of stops to just enjoy the scenery. This place is BEAUTIFUL! The trees are massive and majestic! The different smells in the air from the trees was delightful! There's a donation box which I highly encourage people to donate, it doesn't have to be a lot but we all know even a little bit helps out. We will definitely be going back, for sure in the spring when all the flowers are blooming. Definitely a great experience! Nature is just so stunning!"

"Nice and easy well groomed trail. Signs are posted with a pamplet for a self guided tour. Must pay $5 to park. There are places to sit a long the trail to relax and enjoy the view and fresh air."

Susan

"Smell the (Jeffrey Pine) trees! They smell of vanilla, the cedar incense smell has nothing on the Jeffrey Pine.

What a fantastic place! The loop trail is about a mile with guided pamphlets you can take to learn more about the plants/trees around you.
Located just off the highway with plenty of parking and it is very wheelchair accessible. There are public restrooms but I suggest trying to go before you reach this destination, they aren't maintained very well.

We only found 2 pieces of trash along the looped hike, it was so refreshing to be away from people's garbage. The amount of plants/trees crammed into one place... it is amazing. Some things are currently mislabeled but if you know your botany, you'll spot the right plants. I suggest using Google Lens to identify plants more accurately, plus it makes it fun!"
