"We attended the Basin Museum in Alamogordo and they asked if we would be interested in a tour here and signed us up! Mr. Lewandowski was our host. What an amazing historical site. Our tour lasted three hours and Mr. Lewandowski answered every question possible. I am so pleased this site has been saved and is in the ongoing process of restoration. I was unaware of the gem until it was suggested to us. This is a must see, not only for the tour but to learn about the history behind La Luz Pottery. Highly recommended. Make sure you reserve at the Tularosa basin historical museum in Alamogordo. A very accommodating staff who treated us incredible. Thank you!!!"

"Would suggest some friendlier customer service, or post a sign if you don’t want ppl to visit as tourists. I live in La Luz and had several guests w me to show them the factory. Dot the onsite instructor seemed to be upset. Was treated pretty poorly when asked just to look around, and then perturbed when I asked to buy a little bit of clay for the children to mold and to take with us. I would’ve been happy with a little bit of clay just so the children could’ve gone back to the house with us and played with the clay..
Maybe she was having a bad day.
Had one of the adult ladies with us, sign what appeared to be a guest book and Dot told her to erase the name. What kind of outfit is this. I have to say, in the last 62 years of my life, I have never been so amazed at the poor professional service, to where all we can do is laugh…smh
However if this continues, I can see why there isn’t a very high rating for this historic place. Maybe remove the historic people and replace w a person that has a better people demeanor.
Recommend a sign that states, “Paid Scheduled Tours Only, No walk in allowed!!! “"
