What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about Killington Golf Course's stunning mountain scenery and well-maintained greens, calling it a unique Vermont golfing gem. While the course is challenging and carts lack GPS, the friendly staff and beautiful setting make it a highly recommended experience for golfers seeking both a test of skill and breathtaking views.
"Great team and excellent course! The photos are from one of the best holes, 13, where you can hammer the ball off the tee and it will sore down 200-300 feet of elevation change. I have a season pass here this year and love coming up to play. The fairways and greens are cut to perfection and the scenery is like stepping into your own Eden. One of the golf pros came out and we review strategy and form, and I really appreciated the conversation as a new golfer. The clubhouse has great food and sitting on the deck is a fun way to enjoy time with family. One recommendation, I have seen other resorts installing golf simulators to practice hitting before a round. I believe Killington could benefit from purchasing a few simulators and using them for the course in the summer and in the ski longes for the winter. Maybe this idea could be considered. In any regard, this course is excellent, challenging and a great deal of fun."

The team and staff at the course also receive high marks, with specific mentions of exceptional customer service from clubhouse personnel and cart girls. While the carts themselves lack GPS, the overall experience is enhanced by the friendly atmosphere and the sheer beauty of the surroundings. For those looking to improve their game, the availability of golf pros for strategy and form review is a valuable asset. The clubhouse also provides a pleasant spot to relax after a game, with food and deck seating offering a chance to soak in the views. While some suggest adding golf simulators for year-round practice, the current offering focuses on delivering a high-quality outdoor golfing experience that leverages its spectacular mountain setting.
Navigating the Greens: Course Conditions and Cart Features
When it comes to on-course amenities, the golf carts are a point of note. While they are available for rent, they do not come equipped with GPS. This means golfers should come prepared with their own navigation tools, such as a course map or scorecard that details the layout of each hole. This lack of GPS is a common observation among reviewers and something to be aware of when planning your round.
Beyond the greens and carts, the course design itself is a key feature. It's described as a 'mature mountain course,' implying a layout that has been established for some time and is integrated into the natural terrain. This often means dealing with undulating fairways, significant uphill and downhill shots, and strategically placed hazards. The combination of these design elements and the pristine conditions makes for a challenging yet rewarding golfing experience.
