Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise the Key West Wildlife Center for its commendable rehabilitation work and the dedication of its volunteers. The free admission and the opportunity to learn about local wildlife are significant draws. While the center is focused on rescue, the chance to see animals in recovery is a unique and impactful experience for many.

"We went today and very much enjoyed exploring the property. The volunteers at the entry were extremely friendly and helpful, and they provided helpful handouts to help us identify any animals we may have encountered. The rehab work being done is commendable, and it's just a lovely, affordable (free, donations welcome) way to spend some time in Key West."

"My husband and I noticed a pelican with a fishing hook and weight around its beak. The pelican was tangled along its wings and its neck. Another man that was fishing along the pier came and tried to undo the hook. Luckily the hook came out and the pelican was trying to get away. We threw away the fishing line and hook right away. I called Key West wildlife center. The person came out with a net and some fish within 5minute and rescued the pelican. He was so gentle with the animal too! They took the pelican to the center to fully check before letting it out into the wild. Apparently they'd been looking for this pelican the day before. So glad I could help out and so thankful that Key West wildlife center is there to help and save injured animals! 👍👍👍"

"Tom from Key West wildlife spent a couple of hours rescuing a beautiful Giant Egret this morning who had entangled itself with fishing line (possibly had a fishing hook too). Tom was so patient. A really great guy. The egret has been taken to their clinic. Thank you, Tom 👍👍👍"
