What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the Kent State University Museum, calling it a 'hidden gem' and a 'visual feast' with 'fab exhibits.' Many appreciate the free Sunday admission and the opportunity to see incredible designer fashion up close, from historical pieces to costumes from 'Wicked.' The staff is often noted as sweet and personable.
"So many reasons to love this hidden gem in our community! When I have an afternoon on my own I love to walk through to see what's new. When we have friends in town or a free afternoon with the kids it is #1 on my list of things that make Kent special. With interactive areas, a store, and new exhibits - there's always something new to see. And if you are local - membership is a must! Keep your eyes open for exhibit openings too - the Director makes them open to the public - if you can get a ticket in time! They fill up fast!"

"We came specifically to see the costumes from Wicked but were pleasantly surprised with additional exhibitions (clothing on display from Katherine Hepburn, Aileen Mehle, and North African fashion). The museum is smaller but worth the visit. I’ve never personally seen gowns by Tom Ford, Vivianne Westwood, or Oscar de la Renta in person before. Loved the permanent collections on display as well (Katherine Baumann and Judith Leiber clutches). For the fashion fan, this is a must-visit museum.
I’ll also add the older gentleman who greeted us in the lobby was very sweet and personable!"

"Amazing and free on Sunday. Anyone looking for something interesting to do or if you love fashion, go! I'm ashamed that I have not been to this fabulous place before. I even attended KSU!"
