Cerro Gordo Road, CA. The road to the ghost town of Cerro Gordo in Southern California. Steep gradients, switchbacks and loose gravel make this road a challenge for any capable vehicle. There’s something about Cerro Gordo that keeps pulling me back. A town that once helped build California… now barely a whisper in the wind. No drones, no sweeping footage, just still frames and a view across the Owens Valley that stops me in my tracks everytime. "This place was incredibly cool and I can't believe that there's not more people talking about it. It's definitely worth the drive back in there. There are a couple of tight squeezes driving through there, but it's worth it I bought some merch from the store and some super cool rocks that were found there. Everything was reasonably priced and everyone was super friendly and helpful. Everything is well preserved considering how old it is. Definitely go!"

Angela Reese

"Neat town full of history and character. The drive up was exciting and so was the drive down. Avery was very friendly and was able to give us the rundown of the town. The museum had all sorts of nifty artifacts and pieces of the past.

Make sure to bring water, walking shoes, and a capable vehicle if you want to visit. Also make sure you check in at the museum upon arrival! Can’t wait to see how this place grows in the future."

Joaquin Verduzco

"I made the drive July 3rd.
Stopped halfway to lower the tire pressure to 20 psi- gain more traction for my 14 year old Scion (FWD). The road gains about 5000' in 8 miles.
I also stopped halfway up Cerro Gordo Rd. to let the trans cool down. It was getting sluggish.

But it was all worth it.

The view is incredible . Avery was helpful in explaining everything about the town. And selling merch😁"
