Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about Desert View for its spectacular desert vistas, especially the iconic Watchtower and the incredible stargazing opportunities. The scenic drive offers numerous viewpoints, making it a worthwhile stop. Some find the viewpoints can get a bit cramped, and weather can change rapidly.

"A terrific place to see sunrise, or the desert, including the Salton Sea, during a clear day especially in winter. Sunset is good too, better yet, is viewing the stars at night."

Joseph Gallo

"Good view of the desert and a quick stop en route."

Dhanyakumar M H

"Fun winding 45 minute drive from Poway and even better view from this location. You can simple sit from this lookout spot and enjoy views of the mountain range and dessert for miles depending on air quality. And if you decide to drive up in the evening, the amount of stars you can potentially see are ridiculous, that is, depending of have fast the weather can change from up here. Gets very windy and clouds can roll in very fast, but a great place to get away from the business of being in the city."
