The blue brothers nods were fun too, my hubby loved that aspect. I enjoyed the dilapidated and burnt structures and learning about the prison industrial system. "I LOVED VISITING HERE. We did a self walk around tour and it’s shocking how many films I didn’t know used this location. We visited from the UK as it was on my bucket list after watching the Blues Brothers when I was a teenager and Jake left the jail before going on his mission for god.
It’s a shame some urban adventures set fire to some of the buildings inside the walls and also damaged others but that aside it was a great visit.
The staff from the moment we got to the entrance to buy tickets to the boys and girls inside the walls, were fantastic and friendly and answered loads of questions I had after the walk around.
I know I’ve mentioned the blues brothers as my reason for the visit but don’t dismiss that this is a history filled location and just as a prison I loved being there and looking around.
Good on you and all those involved for keep the place and the history of the prison going and alive. We need to do more of looking after our history and historic buildings around the world before modern society knocks everything down for what is sold to us ( wrongly) as progression!"

And I can't forget the pyramids cigarettes they used to give us.and he learned a lesson and he started being good in school, cuz, he was acting up and I also want to thank the idoc for changing my life around.
