What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Exotic Resort Zoo for its interactive animal encounters and family-friendly atmosphere. The guided tractor tours and the opportunity to feed a variety of animals are highlighted as major draws. While some mention the extra cost for feed and encounters, most find the experience well worth the price. A few negative reviews exist, but many visitors defend the business, citing positive staff interactions and a genuine love for the animals.
"We've been here twice (these pics are from back in March) and have a lot of fun each time! My 2 and 5 year old love feeding the animals, which come right up to the tractor. We did the guided tractor tour, which seems the easiest, and it's a good length of time. It costs extra for animal food but you get a decent amount, and the giraffe encounter also costs extra but is worth it. There are many different types of animals from zebras to camels, bison and deer, kangaroos and ostriches, etc. and separate from the tractor rides there are goats and a lemur, and more deer to feed and interact with. There is also a gift shop inside and a pavilion in the parking lot area. It's a fun and unique experience for lots of ages!"

"These animals are hilarious! They have a great personality. Some will patiently and delicately eat out of your hands, others will swing their neck back to tell you to throw the food, and some will try to get into your window for food lol.
One of the llamas sneezed when it greeted me, I thought it was just being silly until it got my fiancé with some spit! Lol! It is very easy to get distracted with the animals. One of the staff greeted me with a big smile and told us very kindly as one could far away, if we could hasten the pace. Oops! Sorry about that!
I saw some of the negative reviews and it honestly made me upset for the business. I have been in upper management and paid close attention to how the staff greeted the customers and dealt with potential problems. I saw no issues here, and love that they see their employees as family too!
I enjoyed my time, I will be back and will continue to tell others about this fun zoo!"

"First time visiting Austin and wanted something to do around the area. We came upon this attraction and can honestly say it was worth it. The tractor ride 🚜 that allows you to interact with the wildlife and feed them is an experience that we can completely recommend and would definitely do again. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Definitely visit and make some goat friends 🐐 and get some camel kisses. 🐫 💋 goat"

Choosing Your Safari Experience
The guided tractor tram tour is frequently recommended by visitors and social media creators. This option provides a more curated experience, with a knowledgeable guide sharing interesting facts about the animals and their conservation efforts. The tram often ventures off the main paths for even closer encounters, and the guide manages the feeding process, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable interaction for everyone.
Ultimately, the best choice depends on your preference for independence versus guided interaction. For families with young children or those concerned about their vehicle, the guided tour is often the preferred and safer option.
Feeding the Animals: A Highlight
Visitors often share amusing anecdotes about the animals' personalities during feeding. Some are gentle and delicate, while others might be more boisterous, playfully nudging for more food or even attempting to get into windows! The giraffe encounter is a special paid experience that allows for hand-feeding these majestic creatures, which many find to be a worthwhile splurge.
It's important to follow the guidance of the zoo staff regarding feeding to ensure the animals' well-being and your safety. The feed provided is specifically formulated for the animals, and overfeeding or feeding them inappropriate items can be harmful.
A Family-Friendly Adventure
The guided tractor tours are particularly well-suited for families. They provide a safe and controlled environment where children can observe and feed animals without the parents worrying about their own vehicle or the animals' behavior. The duration of the tours is also generally appropriate for shorter attention spans.
Beyond the main safari experience, the petting zoo area offers further opportunities for hands-on fun, allowing children to get acquainted with gentler animals like goats. The overall atmosphere is relaxed and enjoyable, making it a memorable outing for the whole family.
