Beautiful grounds, super friendly staff and excellent wine, beer and food (we had the Brussels sprouts and pepperoni pizza). A nice touch that the room stay (when booked directly) comes with a complimentary wine tasting - hats off to Katie in the tasting room, she’s fantastic!
We love the location and that the property is so dog-friendly. We’ve stayed in or near Fredericksburg many times and Carter Creek will be our new go-to place. The live music and awesome lawn area were the perfect place to enjoy our last glasses of wine for the day and then just walk back to our room. Can’t beat that!
Don’t be dismayed by older reviews on here. It is clear that management has stepped up and they are taking great care of everything. Our room was clean, tidy and well-appointed.

"We had an incredible stay at Carter Creek Ranch in Johnson City for my birthday weekend! It was the perfect getaway with great value and everything you could possibly need right at your fingertips. A relaxing pool area and spa to tasting room and great on-site restaurant, the entire experience was fun and easy on beautiful grounds full of butterflies and hummingbirds.
A special shoutout to Jordan at the spa for very relaxing massages, and to Theresa for a facial that left my skin absolutely glowing. Even my husband, who’s typically not one for spa days, enjoyed the experience
We also loved our visit to 290 Brewery. The food was fantastic, and the staff made us feel right at home. Adam, our server, was attentive and friendly, and Madelyn impressed us with her knowledge and warm hospitality.
We also enjoyed other activities in the area because of the convenience location. A short drive to several charming vineyards and just minutes from the heart of Johnson City. Carter Creek Ranch is the perfect combination of relaxation, convenience, and authentic Hill Country charm. We’ll definitely be back!"

"LOVE this place. Sara at the front desk was so kind and thoughtful in helping arrange the spa package. Jordan, who did my massage and mineral soak was wonderful. She was so talented and clearly cared deeply about the customer experience. The soak was so unique and definitely makes this spa stand out from others! It was extremely fun and relaxing. We will certainly return. Not to mention how stunning this beautiful property is!"
