What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Holy Family Church as a beautiful, peaceful, and historically significant landmark in Jerome. Many appreciate its well-preserved original artifacts and the tranquil atmosphere, making it a lovely spot for reflection. Some note that it's no longer a regular parish and can be locked, but the occasional Mass and general visitor access are valued.
"+JMJ...Sunday, 24 July 2022. A friend and I were former custodians from 2013 to 2014. During that time, my friend installed a Memorial Brick garden, with donated bricks inscribed with the name of deceased loved ones and also in memory of those still alive. He also installed a bench in the Memorial Brick Garden. Some family members of those who grew up in Jerome and were involved in parish life, donated bricks in memory of their loved ones. It is nothing short of miracle that the Church, at its current location since August 1900, is still functional. Though no longer a parish Church, the pastor from Immaculate Conception in Cottonwood ensures that Holy Mass is offered every 3rd Saturday at 8:30 a.m. Ordinarily, 10 to 12 people participate. The current tenants allow for visiting during daylight hours. The Church is very beautiful with many original artifacts. Also, it is a tranquil place for silent, prayerful meditations. Anyone visiting Jerome should feel free to stop in when they see the Open sign. Blessings! 🙏"

"Lovely little church. It's a very good example of what Catholicism looked like in the late 1800s. I do believe there used to be stained glass windows. Either way the view from the plain glass is gorgeous looking over the valley and town. It's a quiet little spot to pray and spend a minute or two with Jesus. (I don't believe Masses are said weekly, although I could be wrong!)"

"Beautiful old church. Have been inside in the past, but the last few times, it was locked. Would love to attend mass here, but it is no longer a regular parish."
